Role overview:
This role will play a crucial role in managing inventory held with our client's Third-Party Logistics (3PL) partners. This role requires a strong understanding of inventory management, excellent analytical skills, and a strong proficiency in SAP system management. The successful candidate will ensure optimal inventory levels, enhance supply chain efficiency, and ultimately ensure an efficient production operation.
 
What a typical week will look like:
 
Inventory Management:
  • Oversee and manage inventory levels with our 3PL partner to ensure accuracy and availability.
  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations with the 3PL partner.
 
System Management:
  • Utilise SAP to manage inventory processes, including data entry, reporting, and analysis.
  • Ensure the SAP system is accurately updated with inventory movements and transactions.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance system functionalities and troubleshoot issues.
 
Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyse inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular inventory reports to the Supply Chain Manager and senior management.
  • Use data-driven insights to support decision-making and strategy development.
 
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the 3PL partners to maintain strong communication and resolve any inventory-related issues.
  • Coordinate with procurement and production and other internal teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
 
What our client is looking for:
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in inventory planning and management, preferably with 3PL involvement.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP, with hands-on experience in inventory modules.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment & understanding of raw materials
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The fine print:
Our client has a flexible work policy 1 day WFH per week. They have an office in the city and manufacturing operations outside Melbourne where this role will also be required to attend. This role is a permanent full-time position.
